A Hundred Thousand Years of Water

Published by gracie at 5:13 am under health, weight loss Edit This

We’re always told that drinking an awful lot of water is good for us and, really, essential to our survival. Being composed of around 70% water is no mean feat (to the imagination anayway), so, as part of my revitalisation process i’m going to be drinking a helluva lot of water.  Now I do drink water when I am thirsty, but I feel nautious at the thought of downing pints when i’m not thirsty. I was wondering today, if drinking so much water is a building block of life, did our ancestors really drink this much? I can’t see it. They didn’t know we 70% water, and didn’t know that we had to drink two thirds our weight in it per day just to stay alive. Yet they managed!

Despite my wondrings on the absolute neccessity of drowning our kidneys in so much eau, i’m going ot give it a bash. It apparantly has some desirable side effects, such as more energy, less headaches, better brain power and concentration. It also, according to the research makes us thin with clear skin. I like these side effects, I just wonder if I can manage it.

So from today i’m going to drink five pints of water per day. I know it’s meant to include tea and coffee, but if it does then I already know it doesn’t work as I drink gallons of tea and coffee every day and I still have the mottled skin of a teenager and and enough spare tyre to not have to worry when we go for a drive in our clapped out banger.

Bearing this in mind, my five pints of liquid WILL NOT include tea, coffee, coke or any other not so clear liquids. Don’t get me wrong, i’ll still be drinking these, but on top of, instead of in place of my water.

I’m up for a challenge. Will let you know :-)
